What is dramatherapy?
Dramatherapy is a form of psychological therapy that uses creative and expressive methods — play, movement, storytelling, imagery and symbolic expression — to support emotional wellbeing.
For children and young people who may find verbal communication difficult, dramatherapy offers alternative ways to explore feelings, experiences and relationships within a safe therapeutic environment.
Who I work with
Tara works with children and young people who may be experiencing emotional, relational or communication difficulties.
She has particular experience supporting neurodivergent children and young people, including autistic and non-speaking individuals, and works in a way that is trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming.
How dramatherapy can help
Therapy may support:
- Emotional expression and communication
- Emotional regulation
- Confidence and self-esteem
- Relationship building and trust
- Processing difficult experiences
- Development of coping strategies
- Increased sense of safety and wellbeing
- Greater understanding of emotions and relationships
